Stafford will solo with the Monday Night Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael Flack on selections that include “Magic Flea” by Sammy Nestico; “Blame it on My Youth” by Levant and Washington, “Bounced” by Terell Stafford, “Dear Ruby” by Terell Stafford and “It Happened to Me” by Dennis Mackrel.

The Tuesday Night Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dave Hibbard, will perform “Shiny Stockings” by Frank Foster; “Do Nothing ‘til you Hear From Me” by Duke Ellington and “Doxy” by Sonny Rollins.

Stafford has been hailed as “one of the great players of our time, a fabulous trumpet player” by piano legend McCoy Tyner. Since the mid-1990s, he has performed with groups such as Benny Golson’s Sextet, McCoy Tyner’s Sextet, Jimmy Heath Quintet and Big Band, Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra, Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Alumni Band. Stafford, with the Hamilton-Clayton Jazz Orchestra, performed on Diana Krall’s Grammy-nominated “From this Moment On” (2006). He’s a member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra of New York City, which earned a Grammy in 2009 for best large ensemble, “Live at the Village Vanguard.” Stafford’s trumpet playing can be heard on more than 130 albums, is renowned in the jazz world as an educator, performer and leader. He and is director of jazz studies and chair of instrumental studies at Temple University, founder and band leader of the Terell Stafford Quintet and managing and artistic director of the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia.
